What type of wood is commonly used for skateboard decks?

North American hard rock maple is widely used for laminated skateboard decks. The final performance still depends on veneer selection, layup, adhesive, pressing, cure, machining, and intended use.

How many sheets do I need for one deck?

The quantity depends on the construction. Many traditional decks are described as seven-ply, but not every deck uses the same number, thickness, or grain sequence. Follow the planned layup and confirm what each product pack includes.

What is the difference between face and core veneer?

Face veneer is selected for a visible outer surface. Core veneer is used inside the laminate, where appearance is generally less important. Crossband veneer is oriented across the width rather than along the deck length.

Can I use every sheet in any position?

Not automatically. Grain direction, dimensions, thickness, grade, and appearance determine where a sheet is suitable. Sort and mark the material before applying adhesive.

Will every sheet look the same?

No. Wood naturally varies in grain, tone, figure, and other characteristics. Grade and product descriptions define the general intended quality, not identical appearance.

Does dyed veneer match the color on my screen exactly?

No exact screen match should be assumed. Lighting, cameras, displays, wood grain, and finishing all affect perceived color. Order a sample when color is critical.

Should I sand veneer before pressing?

Do not remove material without understanding the veneer thickness and bonding requirements. Surface preparation depends on how the veneer was supplied and the adhesive system. Follow the product and adhesive guidance and test the process.

How should veneer be stored?

Store it indoors, protected, clean, fully supported, and generally flat. Keep it away from water, direct sun, strong heat, and contamination. Allow it to stabilize in the production environment before use.

Can veneer be shipped internationally?

Can I order custom sizes or colors?

Do you guarantee that my finished skateboard will not break or delaminate?

No material supplier can control the customer's complete manufacturing process or final use. The builder is responsible for validating the design, layup, adhesive, pressing, cure, machining, inspection, and suitability of the finished product.

What should I send when asking for help?

Include the product name, sheet dimensions, mold dimensions, layup, adhesive, press type, shop conditions, quantity, photographs, and a clear description of the question or problem.
